Lever Style Corporation announced its seventh acquisition since its 2019 IPO, acquiring designated assets from Active Apparel Group (AAG) to strengthen its expertise in activewear, outerwear, and performance apparel. The deal expands Lever Style’s modular, multi-country production platform and supports growing demand for technical and lifestyle apparel.
AAG brings nearly four decades of experience producing high-quality activewear, swimwear and outerwear. The acquisition complements Lever Style’s existing capabilities in denim, soft tailoring and knitwear whilst adding depth in performance-driven segments.
Lever Style serves major performance brands
Lever Style plays a critical role as an apparel production platform for leading performance and outdoor labels. Its client roster includes Arc’teryx, Columbia Sportswear, Helly Hansen, Vuori, and J.Lindeberg, alongside lifestyle brands like Spanx and Skims. Previous acquisitions, such as Elegant Team Development (2023) and Champion System (2021), strengthened its outdoor and technical apparel expertise.
Consolidation accelerates in apparel manufacturing
Major global brands are reducing their supplier base to prioritize larger, multi-country partners capable of delivering integrated solutions. Post-pandemic, brands demand resilient supply chains that can mitigate geopolitical risks, tariff uncertainties, and disruptions—driving them towards fewer, more diversified vendors with production footprints across countries like Vietnam, China, India, and Bangladesh. They also seek “one-stop-shop” partners who can handle multiple product categories and full-package services, from design to logistics, rather than managing dozens of specialised suppliers.
Meanwhile, smaller manufacturers face mounting pressure from rising costs, shrinking margins, and the need for costly modernisation to meet brand demands for digital capabilities and speed-to-market. This creates acquisition opportunities for platform companies like Lever Style, which transforms acquired manufacturers into its asset-light business model, gaining scale and flexibility whilst eliminating traditional fixed-capacity constraints.
Strategic acquirers view economic downturns as ideal buying conditions, targeting companies at attractive valuations to expand product expertise and geographic reach. The result is a sector reshaping itself around fewer, larger, more capable players aligned with brands’ demands for compliance, ESG standards, and technical excellence.
