In collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, Adidas has released a soccer shoe pack with three Adidas x Parley footwear franchises: Predator Accuracy, X Speedportal and Copa Pure. The three models are the first to be made partly from Parley Ocean Plastic, re-imagined plastic waste collected from remote islands, beaches, coastal communities and shorelines to prevent it from polluting the oceans.
The new footwear collection is the latest chapter in a journey that began in 2015 when Adidas first collaborated with Parley for the Oceans to incorporate Parley Ocean Plastic into a line of soccer jerseys.
“While not the solution for saving our oceans, this innovation represents the brand´s commitment towards replacing virgin polyester with recycled solutions by 2024 wherever possible,” the company self-critically said of the new footwear’s impact.
