Covision Media, founded in 2020 in Italy, won the ISPO Brandnew Awards in the Sports, Technology and Platforms category at ISPO Munich a few weeks ago with D-Twin, a fully automated 3D scanner that creates top-quality 3D models in a very short time. With one click, D-Twin can convert any physical object into a 3D model within minutes using state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning technology.

The company said it is currently experiencing rapid growth, with companies needing to convert their physical products into virtual 3D models as digitization and metaverse developments continue. This needs to be done at the highest level of quality to allow these 3D models to be used for applications such as Virtual Try-On (VTO), Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), 2D virtual product photography (where the 2D product photo emanates from the 3D model), 3D e-commerce and Web3 applications. A number of sports, fashion and technology companies around the world are already using Covision Media’s D-Twin to create 3D models of all their products. Covision believes its technology is currently the most advanced in the world.

At ISPO, Covision Media’s 3D scanner showed a focus on footwear and accessories. Customers in the sports and fashion industry already include LaSportiva, Gore-Tex, Salewa, Geox and others.
