On July 5, Nike hosted Goddess Awakened, an outdoor performance in Paris to celebrate the power of womanhood through movement and style, in collaboration with New Zealand dancer, choreographer and Nike partner Parris Goebel. More than 30 Nike athletes and partners brought the 40-minute dance experience to life, directed, choreographed and led by Goebel. The performance took its inspiration from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory. Liz Weldon, Vice President of global Nike Women’s brand management, described Goddess Awakened as “the next era for Nike Women.”
The outfits featured future pieces from Nike collaborators such as Martine Rose, Yoon Ahn and Feng Chen Wang. Future collections from Nike are also aiming to be more inclusive.
“The next era for Nike Women means designing for all women and all journeys through distinctive styling and product,” said Tania Flynn, VP of Nike Apparel Design. “By celebrating all forms of movement, all bodies and all creative identities, we can help redefine the future of sport for the next generation.”
