Reebok has launched a “commercially priced” collection of sportswear that incorporates graphene – an unusually strong, thin, lightweight and conductive material made of a single layer of carbon atoms. Researchers at the University of Manchester have isolated graphene to its thinnest layer, discovering that it is one of the lightest, thinnest, strongest and most heat conductive materials. According to the brand, the leggings, jackets and other items in its new Thermowarm+Graphene collection make use of internal grid print zones to retain 8 to 15 percent more heat than unprinted zones. Total heat retention varies by base fabric. Prices range from $70 to $140.
