Elaine Thompson-Herah

Puma has signed the world’s fastest woman alive, Elaine Thompson-Herah. The Jamaican sprinter and five-time Olympic champion is thus leaving Nike, with whom she had been associated her entire career. Thompson-Herah was seen wearing Puma-branded shoes and apparel earlier this week before the official announcement as she left Kingston for the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, where she will further bolster Puma’s already impressive roster of track and field athletes.

Thompson-Herah is the first woman in history to win the “sprint double” at consecutive Olympics, taking gold in both the 100 and 200 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Aside from her historic Olympic achievements, Elaine Thompson-Herah became the fastest woman alive when she ran 10.54 seconds at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene in 2021.

Puma has been a sponsor of the Jamaica Track and Field Association since 2002. Thompson-Herah now joins fellow Jamaican, sprint superhero, world record holder and Olympic champion Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man for decades.
