While the transfer of ownership of the Reebok brand from Adidas to Authentic Brands Group (ABG) is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year, the new owner has already announced a new and expanded partnership with New York-based sports retailer Foot Locker for the brand, limited to the U.S. Through this agreement, Foot Locker will become the exclusive distributor for some of Reebok’s most iconic models. This includes exclusivity on basketball shoes from famous names and collections, including models from Allen Iverson and Shaquille O’Neal. Foot Locker will work with Reebok Design Group, the global brand center for design, development and innovation and the supplier of key product categories. The retailer expects to begin rolling out the expanded Reebok assortment across its various banners in the U.S. in fall 2022. “We are thrilled to announce our Reebok partnership with Foot Locker as they are an essential part of our strategic growth plan for the brand,” commented Jamie Salter, founder, chairman and CEO of ABG.
