Danish running and orthopedics specialist Kaiser Sport & Orthopaedi (KSO) has become part of Running Experts Europe, the network of running specialty retailers in Europe initiated by Sport 2000 Germany in 2021. The partnership includes seven locations in Denmark. The collaboration will focus in particular on the development of exclusive running specialty products.
KSO is led by the three owners and partners Jan Steinicke (CEO), Jannich Hammer Marker (COO) and Thomas Christoffersen (CVO), who are all active runners themselves. Annually, the company performs 50,000 gait analyses and produces 8,000 individual, handmade dynamic insoles. KSO’s success is based on a multi-dimensional strategy that combines physiotherapy, footwear expertise and business strategy. Since the first store opened in Copenhagen in 1999, seven more stores have been opened over time. By 2025, there will be 10 stores throughout Denmark, according to KSO. “With the exclusive partnership with Running Experts, KSO wants to get closer to the best running specialists in Europe,” Steinicke commented on the collaboration. “We want to share our knowledge and are happy to contribute to the development of the quality of specialty retail in Europe.”
More than 200 independent specialty retailers from Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland are currently part of the Running Experts Europe network. The aim of the group is to create cross-border synergies, promote international exchange between retailers, support and learn from each other.
