Intersport Switzerland has partnered with Mood Media and LG to equip its new Alpine store concept in Crans-Montana with the latest audiovisual retail technology. The high-tech upgrade is visible as soon as you enter the store. In the shop window, Mood Media, an experiential media company based in the U.K., installed a 350x200cm LG screen. The latest LED technology ensures that the image is bright enough even when the mountain sun shines directly on the shop window. The screen has a light sensor, so its brightness adjusts automatically. Inside the store, three digital displays introduce customers to the brand’s full range of products and explain the options for buying or renting equipment.
The store’s redesign is not limited to the displays, however. Sixteen speakers, supported by three subwoofers, were also installed and are powered by a pair of high-quality amplifiers. Shop staff can control the audiovisual system via an accompanying touch panel. Content from Intersport and its partners is scheduled to promote products according to the brand’s marketing campaign calendar. A local and seasonal video content strategy for each store can complement this. The enhanced audio system allows employees to play Intersport’s international music playlist.
Stephan Schläfli, head of partner business at Intersport Switzerland, said, “The technology allows us to offer Intersport customers a complete experience before they even enter the front door, and the speaker system creates a lively atmosphere to keep them coming back. This is an excellent example of how, despite a very traditional environment, retail technology can be integrated and used to provide the best possible shopping experience.“
