New York-based brand management firm WHP Global announced a new long-term license for Lotto with Indian sportswear and athleisure solutions platform Agilitas Sports. The license gives Agilitas exclusive rights to design, manufacture, promote and distribute the Lotto brand in India, Australia and soon in South Africa.

The acquisition of the Lotto license rights comes as India experiences an unprecedented boom in the sports performance and athleisure categories. Agilitas has recognized this unprecedented opportunity and is in the process of creating a business that will impact the entire value chain, from manufacturing to retail.

“We are excited to launch our first consumer brand licence with Lotto,” commented Abhishek Ganguly, co-founder and CEO of Agilitas Sports. “Through this license agreement, we will build and implement state-of-the-art manufacturing, cutting-edge technology, and design innovation for Lotto for its product development, in addition to marketing and retailing of the brand.”

Agilitas, which recently acquired Mochiko, the country’s leading footwear manufacturer, said it would be making major investments in manufacturing, design, research and development, supply chain, marketing, and channels of distribution in the near future. I.e., Mochiko will set up a factory in Noida exclusively for the Lotto brand. Through the partnership, Agilitas, with its deep understanding of the Indian sportswear industry, aims to penetrate the markets and grow the Lotto brand exponentially. Aiming to enter the market by early 2025, Agilitas plans to offer a cross-category range of Lotto-branded footwear, apparel, accessories and sports equipment. The company said it “plans to over-index and focus on delivering a very high-value proposition with regards to cost to the consumer.”

Agilitas stated that Lotto products will be distributed via DTC online channels, shop-in-shops with retail partners and online marketplaces from the first year of launch. The company said it’s planning to also open 200 Lotto-branded standalone stores in India.
