Nike has agreed to continue as the exclusive uniform and apparel provider to the NBA, the WNBA and the G League for another 12 years.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nike will be the league’s global apparel, merchandising, marketing and content partner through 2037. The company will also be responsible for designing and manufacturing NBA and WNBA uniforms and All-Star Game uniforms for both leagues. Nike will also produce on-court and fan apparel for the leagues. Nike also extended its group licensing agreement with the National Basketball Players Association.
Nike has been the NBA’s global merchandise partner since the start of the 2017/18 season, after striking a deal in 2015 to replace Adidas. Nike has been the WNBA’s marketing partner since the league’s inception, in 1997.
“We’ve had a common alignment from the beginning, a common and shared goal to continue to grow basketball on a global basis, for boys, for girls, for elite players at the grassroots level and, of course, through the NBA,” said Sal LaRocca, the NBA’s president of global partnerships. “So from our perspective, it was an easy decision to extend our relationship with Nike for another 12 years.”
