Rosenkranz, who has led the BSI since 2020, has played a key role in strengthening the organization’s position as a leading industry voice in Germany. Under his leadership, the association expanded its political advocacy, sustainability and digitalization initiatives and established a strong cross-industry network linking manufacturers, retailers, and political stakeholders.

“It has been a great honor to lead the BSI over the past years,” Rosenkranz said. “Together with our members, we have built an effective and informative network for the sporting goods industry in Germany. After nearly six years, it is the right time for new ideas within our association’s structure. I will remain closely connected to the BSI and the industry after more than 30 years in the sector.”

The BSI’s board and executive committee expressed their gratitude to Rosenkranz for his contribution to modernizing and repositioning the association and confirmed that preparations for his successor are already underway.

Founded in 1910, the BSI represents around 170 companies and 220 brands from Germany’s sporting goods sector, including several international market leaders. The member companies generate an estimated €35 billion in annual revenue. The association advocates for industry interests at national and European levels and is a member of the European Sporting Goods Federation (FESI) in Brussels.
