Year-on-year global search interest in padel rose 49 percent in 2025, with September marking an all-time peak. World Padel Network data show six new countries entering the top 20 – including Indonesia, the first Southeast Asian market to do so.
Weekly Google Trends in data conducted by World Padel Network (WPN) from March 2025 to March 2026 show that worldwide interest in padel rose 49 percent versus the previous 12 months.
2025 set a “new baseline” for interest in padel
Following five years of accelerated growth, in September 2025, padel hit the highest level of worldwide search interest ever recorded. Early 2026 data suggest this trajectory is holding.

The lowest-scoring week in 2025 was a score that would have been a record-breaking month as recently as 2024. With the 2025 numbers relatively consistent across an entire 12-month window, the WPN analysis is calling the 2025 numbers “a new baseline” in interest in padel.
Interest reflects growing national padel markets
Spain remains the clear leader in global padel search interest, scoring the highest over the past 12 months. This matches Spain’s position as padel’s largest market. However, the growth of interest in Spain is relatively stable (+0.5%) reflecting its mature market.

Six countries entered the global top 20 for the first time, including Indonesia – the first Southeast Asian market to break into the top 20. Countries with a notably large increase include the UK (+121%) Australia (+102%), Ireland (+98%), Ukraine (+280%), Indonesia (+887%), India (+128%), and Pakistan (+198%).

Little crossover between padel and pickleball numbers
Tennis remains the dominant sport in racquet sport search terms, although this is often event-driven, peaking around the US Open. Globally, padel equaled or exceeded pickleball in every week of 2025. However, in the US pickleball dominated search interest.
Padel’s scores moved through a wide range across the year, according to WPN, reflecting “seasonal momentum and continued growth.” Interest in pickleball, by contrast, showed no such fluctuation. This may be an indication that the two sports are in different phases, with padel is still on a growth curve and pickleball more stable for now.

A score of 100 represents peak level of interest for that term within the selected time period and geography.
The data from WPN used the search term “padel” as a whole, across multiple languages and over 12 months to come up with the data included in the report.
