Adidas is creating a new international technological hub at its Spanish head office in Zaragoza to collect and process data for the development of its omni-channel operations on a wide scale and for other IT-related engineering capabilities, said a spokesman for the company, confirming a report in CMDsport. The number of Adidas employees in Zaragoza and at the company Business Center in Porto will increase as a result.
The new Iberian technological center will join similar hubs that have been created by the company at the global headquarters in Herzogenarauch as well as in Amsterdam, Shanghai, Bogotà (Colombia) and Gurgaon (India).
In this context, Adidas’ former general manager for Iberia, Marta Ríos, left the company at the end of 2021. National sales managers are being appointed in Spain and other countries following the promotion last July 1 of Mathieu Sidokpohou as general manager for Southern Europe, based in Paris, with oversight for France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. The experienced executive, who had previously worked for Procter & Gamble, Sephora and Danone; had been named general manager of Adidas for France in June.
A similar reorganization on the commercial front has been implemented by Nike and other companies in Europe, with many former country managers losing their previous functions.
