Austria’s Kronen Zeitung reported that the Upper Austrian sporting goods wholesaler BMM Sports GmbH filed for bankruptcy on May 8. The Linz-based company, which most recently held the general distribution for Under Armour in Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia and Slovakia, is facing a debt of €16 million, according to creditor protection associations. In January, bankruptcy proceedings had already been initiated against the sister companies Sport Performance Retail GmbH and BMM Retail AT GmbH

Norbert Mooseder was appointed as liquidator, who, according to the insolvency petition, is to close the company after a rapid sale of the merchandise owned by the company. BMM Sports most recently had 30 employees.

The Under Armour stores at PlusCity in Pasching and ShoppingCity Seiersberg, which had been managed by one of the sister companies, have already been closed. Under Armour terminated the business relationship with BMM Sports on May 2.
