Boardriders is dismissing 464 more workers in California, according to a notice dated Feb. 1, filed with the California Employment Development Department in compliance with the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act and the California WARN Act.

In the document, the company explains that the reduction is due to the “recent acquisition by Authentic Brands Group and resulting restructure.” Most layoffs (335 jobs) involve the company’s distribution center in Mira Loma, near Los Angeles. The other lost jobs mostly involve the company’s office in Huntington Beach (128) and one in Costa Mesa. The layoffs began on Jan. 5, 2024, and are expected to continue through April 26, 2024, according to the filing. These layoffs are permanent, adds the document.

Authentic completed the acquisition of Boardriders in September 2023. This new round of dismissals follows a similar move in October 2023, when 84 Boardriders staff members were laid off as a result of the acquisition of the company by Authentic.
