Puma has inaugurated a 41,000-square-meter, BREEAM Excellent-certified warehouse that combines automation, energy efficiency and scalability to serve Puma’s expanding European distribution network.
Complemented by an additional 1,000 square meters of dedicated office space, the warehouse is located at the Écoparc Rhénan, just 16km from Strasbourg, in a region well connected to networks within France and beyond its borders. Puma France is headquartered in Strasbourg.
The new warehouse is operated by international contract logistics group ID Logistics, a collaboration that debuted in 2016. The facility is set to gradually replace the logistics site in Landersheim by next summer. The transfer of teams from Landersheim has already begun.
The new site houses an Autostore, operated by ID Logistics, with 70,000 bins and nearly 100 robots, offering high storage density and faster, more ergonomic order-picking. Its modularity will make it possible to increase capacity by mid-term, explains ID Logistics in a statement. The overall technological ecosystem is controlled by the Reflex WMS, interfaced with Puma’s SAP ERP.
The new warehouse’s environmental features include smart LED lighting, a photovoltaic roof, rainwater harvesting systems and biodiversity-friendly facilities.
