With less than half a year remaining until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, stakeholders convened at the Docks d’Aubervilliers in Seine-Saint-Denis to reflect on six years of collaboration and outline their commitments to sustaining the Games’ momentum beyond its conclusion.
The Paris 2024 Forum, held at the Docks d’Aubervilliers, served as a platform for Paris 2024 and its partners to review nearly six years of collective efforts. A recent survey by Harris Interactive for the Organizing Committee revealed that 49 percent of the French people believe hosting the 2024 Games will inspire them to engage in physical activity and sports.
Infrastructure development in the Seine-Saint-Denis area includes four new aquatic centers, 18 swimming pools, 24 preparation centers, and upgraded local facilities, with an additional 5,000 facilities slated for construction or renovation by 2026.
Since 2018, three million children and youth have participated in Olympic and Paralympic Week, promoting sports and their values across French schools and universities. The Paris 2024 Endowment Fund, established in 2019, has allocated €47.8 million to support over 1,100 social projects, benefiting 4.5 million individuals, especially women and people with disabilities.
Beyond infrastructure, initiatives like the Inclusive Club, supported by the CPSF and the City of Paris, aim to expand local sports opportunities for people with disabilities. Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet emphasized the project’s goal of ensuring societal benefits extend beyond the Games.
