Italy-based Tecnica Group has reorganized its racing department. Jörg Ruedl, who has been area sales and product manager for accessories and licensing at Nordica for 10 years, has taken over the position of racing business manager. Manfred Mölgg, a former member of the Italian national team, now holds the position of racing sport manager. Mölgg ended his successful career only last year, looking back on three world championship medals, a crystal globe in the slalom discipline classification and, in addition, three victories and 20 podiums since he made his World Cup debut in 2003. The restructuring of the racing department is intended to push the DNA and strategy of Nordica, as well as Blizzard-Tecnica, within the group. This is the group’s first step in pursuing a four-year strategic plan, the main focus of which is the Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina.
Tecnica Group has defined a clear differentiation strategy for its racing brands: Blizzard-Tecnica will focus mainly on the domestic markets of Italy and Austria. Nordica, on the other hand, will operate on an international level. The brands’ involvement will extend from juniors and the European Cup to the World Cup. The implementation will take place in the coming months with the selection of athletes. At the same time, the Tecnica Group will strengthen the team of service managers and supervisors to provide professional support to the athletes.
“The collaboration with Manfred Mölgg is a promising new beginning,” commented Alberto Zanatta, president of Tecnica Group, on the news. “In order to push our brands’ presence in the World Cup, we will provide our decades of experience, our valuable know-how and corresponding resources. We want to once again ignite emotions, as we did in the past with exceptional athletes like Franz Klammer, Kjetil André Aamodt, Mario Matt and Dominik Paris. Our four-year plan has the great goal of winning medals in Milan-Cortina [2026].”
