After launching an eco-friendly football last year, French start-up Vista has introduced its first recycled and repairable rugby ball. Using recovered seat coverings from cars and planes, the percentage of plastic in Vista’s balls is reduced by 50 percent, claims the company. The fact that the balls can be repaired further reduces their carbon footprint compared to a conventional ball. Vista’s balls are manufactured in part by a Kenya-based NGO that promotes the social integration of people who live below the poverty line. Then, the final part of the manufacturing process takes place in Marseille, France, where Vista is based. The rugby ball range comprises three models: the Reborn (kids), Reborn Traineur (adults) and Reborn Elite (elite players).
