Nike's ad “The Switch” featuring Cristiano Ronaldo came out victorious on this year's Top 10 Cannes YouTube video ad leader-board. The ranking is compiled through an algorithm that takes into account paid views, organic views and audience retention, which refers to how much of a video people watched. The leader-board celebrates the most popular video ads globally since last year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, looking precisely at the period between March 2016 and April 2017. The Cannes Lions Awards celebrate the best creative work in the world. In preparation for Cannes Lions 2017, which took place on the French Riviera on June 17-24, YouTube released a special addition of its Top 10 YouTube ads, in which Nike's emerged as the winning ad of the year. Nike Football was followed, at the second spot, by Knorr's #LoveAtFirstTaste ad, and then by “Clash of Clans: Hog Rider 360” at No. 3. Sport was dominant with three Super Bowl ads also in the Top 10 including Hyundai, Kia and Budweiser.
