Converse’s President and CEO, Jared Carver, will soon be stepping down, according to an internal memorandum at parent company Nike that both Reuters and Bloomberg have seen. Succeeding him will be Aaron Cain, who has been with Nike for more than 20 years and is serving at the moment as Global Vice President and General Manager of Nike Men’s.

Cain spent two years early in his career with the Boston Consulting Group before co-founding Foray Media, which produced magazines for associations and companies. He joined Nike in 2004 and amassed considerable experience abroad, working Hong Kong, Shanghai and Amsterdam, before settling down at Nike headquarters, in Beaverton, Oregon. He will now be moving to Boston, Converse’s home.

Carver has been leading Converse since June 2023 and has been with the brand overall since 2010, with a one-year break (2013-14) at Fanatics, where he served as Vice President of Strategy.

Sales have been declining at Converse for the past two years. For FY24 they amounted to $1.692 billion, down 19 percent year-on-year.
