Tonal is launching Tonal Live, a fitness app with live and on-demand workouts as well as a “social zone” for exchange and goal-sharing between members. Tonal’s founder and CEO, Aly Orady, describes the company’s offer as having “adaptive weights, individualized pacing and form feedback that are customized to our members in real-time.” Tonal Live in particular will combine a “studio experience” with “personalization, guidance and feedback.” To provide the service Tonal has hired four additional coaches. Live workouts will begin on Oct. 20. Also, the company has hired Werner Brell as its chief experience officer, to oversee product management and design, content and “performance innovation.” Brell spent seven years with MTV and almost ten with Red Bull Media House. Last September Tonal raised $110 million from a variety of investors, including the L Catterton investment group and the athletes Steph Curry and Serena Williams. L Catterton had already contributed $45 million the previous spring.
