At the General Assembly of Intersport Deutschland on May 10, to which all members of the cooperative were invited and 147 voting members attended, it was decided that the further implementation of the “Best in Sports” strategy will determine the roadmap in the current fiscal year 2021/2022, now that many of the strategy’s themes have already taken effect successfully. These include floor space expansion, new store formats, implementation of the new CI contracts (as of Oct. 1, 2021, 463 retailers had already signed the new CI contracts, according to CEO Dr. Alexander v. Preen), the introduction of selective distribution for Intersport’s exclusive brands, virtual trade show and the successful ramp-up of the new warehouse. “The reconfirmation of the strategic path taken by the owners of Intersport creates planning security: this is a strong, positive signal to our partners in the dealer network and the industry,” said Knud Hansen, chairman of the supervisory board of Intersport Deutschland eG.
