Zalando has announced that its AI-powered discovery feed, designed to make shopping more immersive and entertaining, will be expanded to 16 additional markets. The multi-brand fashion e-tailer has also simultaneously announced that it is gradually rolling out the option of a public customer profile, which will give customers the possibility to save content and express their own style through personal boards they can share with other users.
The new AI-powered discovery feed was initially launched in six markets in August, replacing the traditional home screen in the app. It is now live in 22 countries. The discovery feed brings together curated boards, personalized product recommendations, inspirational campaigns and editorial content from brands and creators, all in one, easy-to-scroll personal feed.
Zalando introduces a new public customer profile
In addition to expanding the discovery feed to more markets, Zalando is introducing a new profile for customers across all markets. The new public customer profile offers customers a space for their saved content and self-expression through their individually curated boards, which they can now share with other users.
“We are blending the convenience of e-commerce, the entertainment of social media, the connection of idea-sharing platforms, and the inspiration of editorial content into one experience,” said Robert Gentz, Zalando’s founder and co-CEO.
These developments are currently available for select customers using iOS devices.
Zalando was founded in Berlin in 2008. The company reported a gross merchandise volume (GMV) of €15.296 billion in 2024, representing a 4.5 percent year-over-year increase, and revenues of €10.573 billion, a 4.2 percent increase. The number of active customers increased by 4.5 percent last year to a record 51.8 million.
