Under Armour is introducing the Vanish Pro Training Tee, the brand’s first product made with Neolast. The new shirt, part of its Vanish training franchise, will make its commercial debut on May 13. Announced for the first time in January 2024, Neolast is meant as a high-performing alternative to elastane (commonly known as spandex), an elastic fiber that gives apparel stretch. Neolast was developed by Dallas-based Celanese Corp., a global specialty materials and chemical company, in collaboration with Under Armour.

Neolast fibers are produced using a proprietary solvent-free melt-extrusion process, which is said to eliminate potentially hazardous chemicals typically used to produce stretch fabrics made with elastane. Neolast is based on recyclable elastoester polymers that address the challenge of recycling blended fabrics containing elastane.

The Neolast fiber innovation supports Under Armour’s goal to eliminate spandex in its products 75 percent by 2030. The new Vanish Pro tees will only be available to Under Armour Rewards Members.
