Under Armour said it will start moving into its new global headquarters in November, the Baltimore Sun reports. By then, a first wave of employees will relocate from the current Tide Point headquarters to a signature, five-story building on the Baltimore Peninsula, which the company bought eight years ago for $70.3 million.

Approximately 1,500 employees are expected to work in the new space, which is expected to be completed by 2025. Under Armour’s new headquarters is 26,000 square meters, includes a flagship brand house store and incorporates energy-efficient features such as a solar panel roof and carbon-reducing materials. Construction began in December 2022, and the store is expected to open in late October or early November.

The building, also known as Teammate Building 2 (TMB2), was designed by San Francisco-based design firm Gensler and is made of cross-laminated timber, which is part of a wave of mass timber projects currently sweeping the American South, as Wood Central reports. The project, spearheaded by Gensler, sets new standards for combining modern design, sustainability and efficient construction techniques. The building’s striking form resembles a sports stadium with a façade canopy made from an innovative fluorine-based polymer. In line with Under Armour’s commitment to act sustainably, TMB2 strives to achieve a net-zero goal by significantly reducing energy use and operational energy and pursuing LEED Platinum certification.

The new campus also includes the existing Building 37, which houses development and testing functions, as well as a multi-sport field with an athletics facility, which opened in spring 2023. The field, which the brand will use for training and product testing, will be open to the public again from next year.
