Decathlon and iconic rugby brand Canterbury have signed a co-branding agreement that will run until the end of the next World Cup, to be held in Australia in 2027. Starting in July, products branded as “Canterbury by Decathlon” will be available in the Decathlon distribution network, in stores and on the web. The new co-branded rugby range will include balls, tees, helmets, protective underwear and mouthguards.

With this new collaboration, Decathlon aims to satisfy the most demanding players and the club market while retaining the affordability that is “part of its DNA,” said the company. Canterbury called the agreement “a game changer” for both brands and for rugby fans and players.

Decathlon, headquartered in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, near the French city of Lille, has a network of 1,700 stores worldwide and 100,000 employees. It distributes rugby products in more than 600 of its shops in Europe, including 250 shops in France, 120 in Spain, 100 in Italy and 50 in the UK. The new co-branded range will also be distributed outside of Europe, said Decathlon.
