Stiga Sports and the Swedish Lidingö Tennis Club have signed a three-year cooperation agreement, under which Stiga Sports will be the club’s official racket partner. The collaboration is an important step in Stiga Sports’ ambition to support and develop Swedish tennis at all levels, says the company. Lidingö Tennisklubb is a club with elite and broad appeal, where the men play in Sweden’s highest series.

As part of the agreement, Stiga Sports will have its own department in Lidingö Tennis Club’s racket shop, where members will be given the opportunity to test-play and take part in the entire range of Stiga rackets. In addition, the club’s coaches will gradually be introduced to and encouraged to use optional Stiga models, further strengthening the bond between Stiga Sports and Lidingö Tennis Club.

Stiga Sports, which has told SGI Europe that it will go public within three years, is experiencing a tailwind after a quite tough Covid period. In the Olympics, the Cybershape bat made a big impression when Swedish table tennis player Truls Möregårdh used it to win the silver medal. And recently, Stiga implemented the technology in their padel raquet.

The collaboration between Stiga and Lidingö also means that Stiga will be visible through advertising spaces both on the tennis court and on the club’s website. At competitions and events organized by Lidingö Tennisklubb, Stiga Sports is offered the opportunity to have its own stand and staff on site, thereby being able to interact with the club’s members and visitors.

“We at Lidingö Tennisklubb are incredibly happy and proud to have entered into a collaboration with Stiga Sports,” said Fredrik Mellin, Managing Partner at Lidingö Tennisklubb. “It is completely in line with our efforts to find new ways to develop Swedish tennis and we hope for a long and successful partnership.”

“From Stiga Sports’ perspective, we are super proud of the collaboration and look forward to being an active part of continuing to develop Lidingö Tennis Club’s operations in the coming years,” commented Mattias Westerberg, Commercial Manager at Stiga Sports.
