E-commerce giant Amazon is requesting that products sold during Black Friday be submitted a week earlier than in 2023. This adjustment is intended to maintain the fast Prime delivery speeds essential during the company’s busiest time of year.
The deadline of Oct. 19 is a week earlier than the one set by Amazon last year. This adjustment lets the company maintain fast delivery speeds during the condensed holiday season. Amazon has announced that it delivers at its fastest speeds ever for Prime members, thanks to the benefits of a regionalized fulfillment model.
Sellers who fail to meet the inventory-receiving deadline may encounter difficulties securing space at Amazon’s fulfillment centers. The company has announced that it will have limited capacity to accept shipments during November and December, as it prioritizes ensuring fast delivery.
Amazon has also indicated that sellers may experience reduced inventory capacity limits in October and November. The company did not specify the extent of the capacity change, but sellers will have sufficient room for an average of six months of inventory. In the previous year, Amazon offered higher capacity in October before beginning to reduce storage limits.
Capacity limits vary by account, but sellers can use Amazon’s Capacity Manager tool to request an increase for a fee.
