Online sales were up by 16 percent, thanks to 100 million visits to Intersport’s website and 2.88 million visits to Blackstore’s.
For its centenary year of 2024 Intersport France is reporting full-year revenues of €3.88 billion, up 6.3 percent year-on-year. Steady growth, the company says, has raised revenues by €1.6 billion over the past four years.
Online sales were up by 16 percent, thanks to 100 million visits to Intersport’s website and 2.88 million visits to Blackstore’s.
The company opened 80 stores, raising its total in France to 980. These are split between:
- Plaine: 563 stores (+12)
- Montaigne: 274 stores (+40)
- Blackstore: 118 (+14)
- Outlet: 25 stores (+3)
The company’s own-brands – Nakamura, Pro Touch, McKinley and Energetics – have experienced 70 percent growth, presumably in revenues, over the past five years.
Intersport International has posted worldwide revenues of €14.0 million, up 2.1 percent from 2023, as we have reported. The group opened 83 stores worldwide in FY24, raising its total to 5,464 in 42 countries.
The group claims in its statement for France to be the largest dealer of sporting goods in Europe. For comparison, SGI Europe’s most recent “Largest Sporting Goods Retailers in the Galaxy” chart, for 2023 (published last October), puts Decathlon on top worldwide ($16.865bn), followed by Intersport ($14.811bn) and Dick’s Sporting Goods ($12.984bn). Dick’s will no doubt soon be rising in the list, thanks to its acquisition of Foot Locker.
