The second ever Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW), organized and hosted by Decentraland, is to take place March 28–31 and will feature a fashion show by Adidas.
The MVFW is a multi-disciplinary and cross-metaverse event consisting of runway shows, after-parties, educational talks, shopping, immersive experiences, and entertainment. The theme of MVFW23 is “Future Heritage,” showing the potential of fashion to bridge realities and worlds. According to Jing Daily, owners of Adidas’ Virtual Gear non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will be able to claim an exclusive 3D twin to use on avatars inside Decentraland’s platform.
Other players from the industry include Alo, who will be hosting mindfulness sessions, and Yankeekicks, who will run a pop-up sneaker shop all week. Adidas has been leading sportswear’s venture into the Metaverse since it launched its first NFTs in Dec. 2021.
