Canterbury of New Zealand has launched its Fall Winter 2026 rugby boot range, led by the Speed Falcon 2.0, and has expanded for the first time into a speed boot designed specifically for junior players, alongside a new boot guarantee.

The range is organized into three lines by playing position: the Speed Falcon 2.0 for wingers and backs, the Phoenix for back row players and centers, and the Stampede for front row forwards, each priced at a recommended retail price of £160. The Speed Falcon 2.0 uses what Canterbury calls Flightframe technology: a stiffened forefoot paired with a stud pattern the brand says is mapped to the foot to support acceleration, plus a 7 mm heel lift intended to improve stability.

The second launch is the Speed Junior Pro, Canterbury’s first boot engineered for junior players rather than a resized adult model. It features a TPU outsole, a one piece Vaporskin upper, an elastic knit tongue, and lightweight aluminum studs, and is positioned for the back to school rugby season.

The junior launch comes as youth participation remains a major driver of the sport, adding context beyond a standard product release. World Rugby’s 2023 audited count put 57 percent of all registered Rugby Union players in the preteen bracket, while the kids apparel segment is forecast to outgrow the adult category through 2031, a structural shift SGI Europe examined in its rugby participation report. Canterbury’s junior focused engineering, rather than a resized adult boot, targets a segment brands have historically underserved.

Both launches come with a new boot guarantee: buyers who register a pair at Canterbury.com within 30 days of purchase get 12 months of coverage against faults or unexpected breakage.
