Intersport Germany has entered a new stage of its cooperation with Adidas. Both companies signed for a single account model, similar to the agreement that Intersport has had with Nike since 2018.

Kicking off with the June 2022 order show in Heilbronn, Intersport retailers will have access to pre-set single account product assortment packages jointly defined by the Intersport category management and Adidas. This single account model includes logistics and fulfillment services being implemented at Intersport Germany’s Heilbronn headquarter.

Intersport Germany will be the future central contact for Adidas for sales and marketing, which simplifies processes and coordinates communication with the roughly 1,000 Intersport retail partners in Germany. According to the retail group, the single account model with a central delivery address greatly simplifies order and shipping services (one order, one warehouse, one invoicing). As a result of the streamlined product assortment and aligned marketing campaigns, the single account system also makes it easier to implement uniform ranges and campaigns.

Frank Geisler, COO of Intersport Germany, said: “Particularly thanks to the major investments in the digitalization of our entire value chain and by expanding our logistics, we can efficiently manage the additional capacities with our ’warehouse of the future’ and increase its utilization in a targeted way. We have already gained experience with such centralized delivery models in our warehousing and brokerage business and can now implement them very quickly and efficiently with Adidas. As a result, we ensure a high quality of service in the sales and operations area for our Verbund members. And our customers can look forward to innovative and sought-after Adidas products at their Intersport retailers.”
