German retailer Intersport Voswinkel is celebrating its 50th location with the opening of its new 1,100-sqm sports store in Hanau, underlining its growth course, with more Voswinkel stores to follow.
“We want to continue to drive our growth course, and after investments of €5.5 million in the past three years, we also plan to invest €3.5 million in the modernization of 13 locations, respectively two new locations, for the upcoming fiscal year 2023/24,” explained Marcus Neul, Managing Director of Intersport Voswinkel. This was and is only possible because of the positive developments in the past years and especially in the last year, which saw very good results. “2021/22 was already very successful and we are proud that we were able to boost these achievements even further in the fiscal year that has just ended,” Neul said.
In order to continue to drive growth, Intersport Voswinkel is strengthening its team with the addition of a seasoned real estate expert. Dirk Schüürmann, previously Real Estate Manager at fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf, has been working as Head of Real Estate for Sport Voswinkel GmbH since September 2023.
In the new store at Forum Hanau, Intersport Voswinkel carries leading sports brands, including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Asics, On, Brooks, Lowa and Meindl. Intersport’s private brands McKinley, Energetics and Firefly are also available. Like all of Intersport Voswinkel’s sports stores, Hanau is also geared towards an integrated shopping experience: 360-degree services for sports and health, such as Click & Collect, product reservations, online bookings or the option of digitally checking the availability of goods if the desired item is not in stock in the store, complement the range of services. Other highlights in the store include foot measurement, a test track with different surfaces, the Imbox shoe impregnation system and the Currex Shoe Coach in the footwear department.
