The multi-year deal puts adidas on court from the 2027 season and extends to youth camps and licensed merchandise. It follows an oversubscribed Series C round that left the player equity pool worth $200 million.

Adidas will supply uniforms and performance apparel to Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 women’s basketball league, under a multi-year agreement announced Sept. 23. The first adidas kit will appear on court at the start of the league’s 2027 season.

The contract covers game and training apparel for players, as well as clothing for the league’s camps, clinics and community programs for young players. adidas will also expand the range of licensed Unrivaled merchandise, including authentic jerseys and lifestyle collections. Financial terms were not disclosed, and release dates for the new products have yet to be announced.

A league worth $650 million

Unrivaled is growing fast. The league, co-founded in 2023 by Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, heads into its third season with eight clubs and fifty-four players. It reached its $650 million valuation in August through an oversubscribed Series C round led by Ten Pillars Sports Fund, which is backed by UC Investments, Sportico reported.

Fintech entrepreneur Jenny Just joined the round, and earlier investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Alex Morgan, Carmelo Anthony, Ashton Kutcher and Trae Young put in more money. Players hold most of the ownership. Their equity pool is now worth $200 million.

Part of a wider women’s basketball strategy

Max Staiger, Global General Manager of adidas Basketball, said the brand aims to become “the next generation brand of basketball.” The agreement adds to the company’s work in the women’s game, where Candace Parker serves as President of adidas Women’s Basketball.
