The German Bundesliga football club RB Leipzig is changing its kit supplier. The existing contract with US sporting goods supplier Nike, which has been in place since 2014, expires in 2024. From the 2024/25 season, German company Puma will kit out all of RB Leipzig’s men’s, women’s and youth teams. The new long-term partnership is expected to generate around €150 million for the club.
RB Leipzig was founded in 2009 on the initiative of Austrian Red Bull GmbH and was given the right to compete in the fifth-tier German Oberliga Northeast in the 2009/10 season. After its meteoric rise to the top Bundesliga division, RB Leipzig qualified for the Champions League six times to date. The club has also won the DFB Cup twice and the DFL Super Cup once. The women’s team advanced to the Bundesliga in 2023.
“The Red Bulls of RB Leipzig have made a name for themselves in a very short period of time, not only in Germany but also internationally,” said Puma CEO Arne Freundt. “We look forward to many fantastic football moments and are excited to join the club on this successful journey in the coming years.”
In addition to outfitting the various teams, Puma also secured comprehensive rights for sponsorship, merchandising, and matchday advertising in the Red Bull Arena and the RB Leipzig Football Academy, as well as for digital activities. Puma will also kit out RB Leipzig’s E-Sports team.
