JD Sports is implementing a new policy requiring all head office employees worldwide to return to the office at least four days a week, effective July 1. This decision will impact employees at the sports giant’s UK head office located in Bury. However, JD Sports will maintain flexibility based on individual roles and responsibilities. The company believes that this shift will provide employees with increased opportunities for personal development, collaboration and teamwork.
The decision to adjust the policy aims to ensure a fair and consistent approach across JD Sports’ global offices, considering that the majority of its staff work in retail stores. JD Sports joins other companies like Boots, THG, and Amazon in revising their flexible working policies in recent months. Boots’ managing director, Seb James, announced in March that the company would transition back to a five-day office workweek to restore its head offices as “normal places of work” for employees.
