The NHL (U.S. National Hockey League) has announced that it will not continue its contract with Adidas as jersey sponsor after the 2023/24 season. The contract between the NHL and Adidas had a term of seven years. Starting with the 2017/18 season, the Herzogenaurach-based company had replaced Reebok, which had held the rights to the jerseys since the 2005/18 season. Reebok paid the NHL $35 million per year for those rights. According to Bleacher Report, U.S. sports journalist Greg Wyshynski of ESPN said that Adidas had doubled that payment. There is currently no word on talks with potential new sponsors.
