As part of its strategy to reclaim its position in sports culture, Reebok has announced a new sponsorship deal with world champion boxer Shakur Stevenson. The partnership centers around “Move Like Shakur”, a collection of footwear, apparel and accessories for the gym, home and more. The custom boxing boots for Stevenson will feature his “SS” initials on the heel and the Reebok Vector logo on the inside and outside.
Reebok’s newly appointed President of Basketball Shaquille O’Neal and VP of Basketball Allen Iverson were both instrumental in finalizing Stevenson’s deal. The basketball legends also have personal connections to Stevenson: O’Neal hails from the same New Jersey town as the boxer, while Iverson and Stevenson attended the same high school in Virginia.
