Following its sister company Atomic’s impact statement, Salomon has also published its first-ever annual sustainability report. After a full carbon inventory, the French brand’s science-based targets have been officially approved for 2022 (aiming for a 50 percent absolute reduction in Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions and a 30 percent absolute reduction in Scope 3 carbon emissions by 2030, starting from a 2019 baseline, and net zero by 2050).

Highlights from the report are:
- 80 percent of Salomon’s tier 1 suppliers achieved gold level in their social audit system (target: 100 percent by 2025)
- Launch of a completely redesigned MTN ski touring collection made from up to 40 percent more environmentally friendly materials.
- A global partnership with Protect Our Winters (POW) has been signed in North America, and Mike Douglas, the current CEO of POW Canada, becomes Salomon’s sustainability ambassador
- Supporting non-profit organizations that help women and minorities access Salomon’s sports
- Salomon is a participating Fair Labor Association company through its mother company Amer Sports, and is on track for accreditation by 2024
- A responsible product framework was established to move the product line toward a circular economy. The fall/winter 2022 apparel collection consisted of 44 percent recycled materials and 89 percent Oeko-Tex or Bluesign-certified fabrics
