Four teams remain, but only two will get to spend Sunday with adidas’ new match ball. As Spain, France, England and Argentina battle for a place in the FIFA World Cup 26 final, adidas has unveiled Trionda Final, the first World Cup ball designed specifically for the tournament’s closing stage.

The ball will be used for the semifinals, third-place playoff and final of the FIFA World Cup 2026. It marks the first time in World Cup history that adidas has created a standalone design for the tournament’s final matches rather than applying a color update to the original ball.

Trionda Final retains the same four-panel construction, panel shape and surface structure as the Trionda match ball adidas launched in October 2025, ensuring identical performance from the opening match through to the final whistle. What changes is the look. The original colorway has been replaced with a gold-and-black design inspired by the FIFA World Cup trophy, accented with pink and red details.

The four host cities for the tournament’s closing matches – Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and New York/New Jersey – feature prominently in the ball’s graphics. The remaining World Cup host cities are integrated into the triangular design elements across the surface.

Beyond aesthetics, Trionda Final carries the latest version of adidas’ Connected Ball Technology. The system provides real-time positional and movement data to match officials, helping support decisions including offside reviews and goal-line incidents. FIFA has used similar connected-ball systems at recent tournaments to accelerate video assistant referee (VAR) processes and improve decision-making accuracy.

Worth remembering is adidas’ long-standing role as FIFA’s official match ball supplier, a partnership that dates back to the 1970 World Cup. Over the decades, tournament balls have evolved from purely sporting equipment into highly visible marketing assets, sitting alongside boots, jerseys and other performance products as key expressions of brand identity during the competition.

The pink and red accents on Trionda Final put the finishing touch on a tournament awash with bright footwear colorways, from dominating pink tones to a range of competing neon shades. They also arrive alongside what has been one of the most visually diverse World Cups to date, with 48 national teams showcasing an unprecedented variety of jersey designs, graphics and storytelling elements across the competition.
